Today’s stage went pretty ez most of the day. We started in warm humid conditions, after about 10 miles of steady ez riding one guy attacked and the pack let him go. That was it, the field was happy to just let him sit out at about 8-10 min. until the final hour of racing, when the chase went hard and he was caught about 1km before the one and only KOM of the day. The KOM was on the circuit at the end of the stage and it was about a 150m super steep hill. Not much of a mountain but when you ride the whole circuit strung out at 35mph it is pretty tough. I lost position on the first lap of the circuit when half the field cut a corner through a parking lot and just suffered at the back of the pack the rest of the way.
It also rained and thunder stormed on us today for about 1.5 hrs, which is always fun. That’s it for today, I am heading to bed. Tomorrow we have a 40km TT, so I got to rest up.
