Instructions for Using the Video Finish System (Short)

  1. Set up 6 ft tripod with camcorder on top.
  2. Hook the video cord from the camcorder to the input in the back of the Tevo
  3. Run the same type of video cord from the Output of the Tevo to the input in the front of the TV
  4. Plug in the TV, Tevo, and Camcorder to a power source
  5. Turn on all three. (TV is on Channel 4 or 3). There should be a green light in the front of the Tevo that should indicate that the Tevo is 'Receiving' and image
  6. Select "Now Playing" on the Tevo main menu.
  7. Turn the Camcorder to 'Power On' so that there is an image coming through the camcorder [you do not need to hit record on the camcorder]
  8. Once you have an image that is being picked up by the camcorder [and shown on the tv], then hit 'Record' on the Tevo remote
  9. Set up the camera so that it is as high as possible (on a car roof or something).
  10. Make sure that the camera is set at 1/10,000th shutter speed (see camera instructions).
  11. Now get riders to ride through the finish line. After they go back, 'hit the rewind, or back arrow button' on the Tevo remote. This will allow you to go back and look at riders crossing the finish line. You can also 'Pause', etc, just like on a normal VCR.

Notes

  • The Tevo has 14 hrs of hard disk space. At this point in time, I think it automatically records over old things once the 14 hr limit is met.
  • Once you hit 'Record' on the TEVO, a light on the front right of the Tevo will indicate that it is recording. As long as you don't hit 'Record' and 'Stop' the Tevo will continue to record even as you go back and look at previous finishes.
  • Play around with the system and get comfortable with it before you need to use it for a race finish.
