BAR standings updated with Tour de Ephrata results

The 2008 BAR standings have been updated with the results of the Tour de Ephrata. Per PCA by laws points are awarded for each stage and not based on GC. There are many BAR standings that are very close including M50+, M3-4, and M4. Those close battles may change this weekend with two very tough BAR races, Turkey Hill and Memorial Hall Criterium. BAR Points have been scored for Strasburg RR

The first BAR points of the 2008 season has been awarded from the results of the Strasburg RR. Thanks to Rich Ruoff (RedRoseRaces.com) and the Big Guy Group for the results. Next BAR race is the Kirkwood RR on March 29.

2008 PA BAR series opens tomorrow (3/15)

Another BAR season is upon us with the Strasburg RR sponsored by RedRoseRaces.com. 380 riders have pre-registered for the event and those riders who belong to a PCA member club can earn BAR points with their efforts. Take a look on the PCA web site early in the week for brand new BAR standings. Best of luck and safe racing to all.

PCA Womens Committee

Formed in 2007, the womens racing committee was established to increase coordination and promote a cohesive and inclusive program for womens racing for all categories in PA. Its goals are to
(1) communicate with women racers;
(2) increase womens participation at races;
(3) coordinate with PCA and race clubs/promoters to ensure equitable opportunities for women;
(4) advocate for races that are both challenging and rewarding.

In conjuction with the national effort of Womens Cycling Made Real, the committee is developing a PA Womens Series for 2008. If you would like more information about the work of the committee or would like to recieve notices of PA races for women, please send an email to dhanchin@comcast.net
